FOR TEENS
“The information on healthy and unhealthy relationships was most valuable to me.”
Are you sexually active?
Do you have questions about your sexuality?
- Know that you have value as an individual. Set goals for yourself and who you want to become. Remind yourself of these goals when a situation arises when you need to say no.
- Ask a friend of family member to keep you accountable.
- Pre-set Boundaries. Be proactive and not reactive. Pre-think situations and how you will respond so that you are not caught off guard and simply reacting to emotions in the moment.
- In the case of a situation where you are being pressured – run the other way.
STDs/STIs are contracted through sexual activity or genital contact with a person who is already infected. Many STDs/STIs do not cause any obvious symptoms and can be spread without either the carrier or recipient knowing. Without treatment STDs/STIs can possibly develop serious complications. The Department of Health recommends that anyone under the age of 25 who is sexually active should get tested for STDs/STIs annually.
